Patok by Rach BROOKLYN

It’s been a long time coming — for years, DeKalb Market Hall, tucked beneath the bustling City Point Mall in Downtown Brooklyn, showcased an impressive variety of global cuisines. Yet, one vibrant and beloved flavor had long been missing: Filipino food.

That changed with the arrival of Patok by Rach. With its bold flavors, comforting dishes, and unapologetically Filipino soul, this new addition hasn’t just filled a culinary gap — it’s infused DeKalb Market, and Downtown Brooklyn as a whole, with a deeper sense of diversity, warmth, and home.

On our first visit, we went straight for the classics. The chicken adobo over rice was rich, tender, and deeply satisfying — a perfect comfort dish. I also ordered the lechon belly, complete with crispy skin and perfectly seasoned meat. It turned out to be a generous portion, clearly meant for sharing, so I brought the rest home — and yes, it was just as delicious the next day.

Patok by Rach brings more than just food — it brings identity. For a community that’s gone without Filipino representation in this space for so long, this isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a homecoming. And judging by the flavors we experienced, it’s one that’s been well worth the wait.
