Dinner at Obao, Dessert at Schmackary
New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen is nothing short of a gastronomic melting pot, boasting an incredible range of cuisines—from quick bites to fine dining—from every corner of the globe. So when a table for two suddenly became available just seconds after being cleared, my wife and I knew it was a sign to step inside OBAO Noodles & Barbecue.
This Asian fusion gastropub delighted us with its scrumptious small plates that perfectly balanced bold flavors and comforting familiarity. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted, inviting us to savor the best of both traditional and inventive takes. The cocktails were equally impressive—creative, refreshing, and expertly mixed, elevating our dining experience to something truly special. Needless to say, we left feeling satisfied and eager to return.
Our culinary adventure didn’t end there. Just a few steps away, we discovered Schmackary’s, a dessert haven where my wife happily indulged her sweet tooth. It was the perfect way to round out our evening.
All in all, we made it to Hell’s Kitchen and back—full, happy, and with memories of great food and great company.
